Posted by bobtgoldfish on July 11, 2009
I’d said last time, I’d planned a readers questions column for this week, but I’m flaking, again.
also let me apologize for the lack of last weeks column, I was having some inner ear issues, and it had me out for the count.
Instead, I’m bringing you a column that in near and dear to my heart, something that I hold in great esteem. “What is that ?” I hear you ask.
Riddle me this: what do the following names have in common?
Sir Sean Connery, George Lazenby, Sir Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton, Peirce Brosnan, Daniel Craig
That’s right, Lets all say it together:
Bond, James Bond; 007
So As I always say…

The Longbox: Songs in the Key of Steve
Posted by bobtgoldfish on June 27, 2009

This week, I return from Wizard World Philadelphia with not much to say.
I know, I know, what kinda reporter am I?
I’M NOT! I’m a Columnist!
So instead of the regular con report that I had spoken to you about, I’ve asked Leigh, last week’s guest columnist, to come back and have a discussion with me on something that is quite a hot topic in comics at the moment; the life, death, and resurrection of Captain America. Thankfully she was game for a laugh, so here we have the product of that conversation.
Again I apologize for the lack of Philly news, but frankly I enjoyed getting my drink on.
And yes, sure, I could come back and tell you tales of “Drunken Adventures in the City of Brotherly Love,” and doing lines of blow off of issues of X-men while Marina Sirtis and Yancy Butler are naked and making out in the corner, Edward James Olmos is playing the banjo in the bath, and Emma Caulfield has dinner with bunnies. But let’s be honest, no one wants to hear those stories. Do they? I mean is there really any interest in that? No. (Please note.. none of that actually happened! GO GO GADGET HYPERBOLE!)
So within lies our opinions and quips to do with the life and times of Captain America.

The LongBox: The Good, The Bad and The Busty
Posted by bobtgoldfish on June 20, 2009
The Long box has it’s first ever guest columnist!
This week Leigh, a friend of mine has done me the honor to take over duties of the Column for this week as I spend the weekend in Philadelphia, Attending Wizard World Philly. My friends and I make the trip every year and expect to see some writing on the subject next week.
So this week Leigh waxes lyrical on the life of a COMIC fangirl, I’m hoping to talking her into writing the other side of this column for me soon, so please read and let us know what you think.
So, Read on, dear reader, read on. Read the rest of this entry »

The LongBox: The Day Alfred Pennyworth Broke My Heart.
Posted by bobtgoldfish on June 14, 2009

The Longbox
Okay ‘Teers, I’d planned to post a small piece I’d written about Toast and Jam, but there is something else that demands my attention.
Recently, DC Put Grant Morrison front and centre of the creative control of the DCU. I’ll go into my thoughts on Morrison later but one of the things that was masterminded by GM was last years “Batman RIP” event. Well we are now truly into the era of the “New Bat”, I know it may not last long, I know that there may be fallout. But until this week, I have kept silent on what some people have called the Biggest Death in Comics since Uncle Ben. (I think the Steve Rogers fans among us might have something to say about that.) What brings this issue suddenly to the forefront of my cerebellum? What do the floaty text bubbles that float around my head have to say about all this? Why did I just steal one of Deadpool’s gimmicks?
Read on, Dear reader, Read on.
Go on, Please?
Okay then.
Oh, and I guess I should warn you I’m going to be talking about major spoilers in here for the bat family of book from the last few months, so be aware.

“Trailer Trash” #2 – The Bracelet of Bordeaux
Posted by scumminik on June 12, 2009
In this episode Ely Henry faces a trailer so unique the movie could be the first of a new genre. Or, you now, just plain weird. Also, if you ever thought girl scouts needed their own kick ass action movie line, this trailer delivers it. John McLane would be so jealous. If he were a girl scout. Enjoy.

The LongBox: In brightest day, In blackest night…
Posted by bobtgoldfish on May 26, 2009

The LongBox
Okay… so as you all know, last year I did a post on my top 5 comic movies. I took a long time and spent hours of research (aka watching movies) to come up with that list.
Add to that that you will always be looking for perfect casting for various heroes in the movie adaptations. Now I was surfing another site and I came across a fan made superhero trailer that absolutely blew my mind.
Not only was the trailer very very very well done, the casting of the main character had caught me completely off guard.
Who? What hero (as if the title didn’t give it away)? Will there be punch and pie? For all these answers and more (including the trailer) read on.
And adding to that my discussion who should play more memorable heroes.

The Longbox: An Awful Lot of Running To Do.
Posted by bobtgoldfish on May 18, 2009
Hey there, Faithful readers, long time no post, right?
Yeah, I know my bad. Long story short, lots of crap got into the way of my time to write, and now that’s out of the way, I’m back and back with a vengeance. I’m probably going to post at least 2 or three other columns in the next few days as I’m going to be stranded in a hotel room with not much to do during the day except write.
One small note however, is that My Laptop is broken, so there aren’t going to be any banners for these, I’ll still include some pictures here and there, but not to the degree that I would have before. I’m bashing these out on a friends Lappy since mine took a crap on me. well not on me.. but.. well you get the point.
So.. I think that is enough preamble time to turn your attention to the title.. and what this column is going to be about. Well.. to those that know that quote, they would have known in an instant. Those of you who don’t know, today our topic will be…
The Oncoming Storm…

“Will’s Corner”: The Second Readthrough
Posted by reynardcity on March 9, 2009
OK it wasn’t filmed as hoped, but photographed. Essentially it amounts to the same thing ie facial expressions captured that can be used in the animation process.
