Interview with the writer\director of “Purgatory Comics”

I had the pleasure to talk to independent film-maker Ralph Suarez, who wrote and directed “Purgatory Comics”, a movie that features a comicbook store, the appropriate amount of geeks, life changing questions and – of course – a porn star.

Krypton may be lost…

Save Supermans House …but the house in which Jerry Siegel dreamed up a bulletproof man, who was the first of a new kind of fictional heroes is still standing – barely. The creation of Superman was the birth of a new genre, which continues to amaze people to this very day. Even cynical people, even people who hate comics have to agree on one thing: When it comes down to the question, who the most widely known fictional characters in the history of story telling are, polls would list the man of steel in the top ten along with names like Sherlock Holmes, Hamlet, Dracula, Faust, Don Quichote and most definitely a few of his super powered and/or costumed relatives.
One would think that the very house in which Siegel created this national and cultural treasure would be preserved and kept in good condition by it’s community. Sadly though, things are not that simple. The house is in a disastrous condition. Read the rest of this entry »
